Ford claims that the 2021 Ford F-150 is tougher than all of its predecessors, and we’re here to back up that claim. The new F-150 is loaded with features that only add to its toughness, from its body to its off-road prowess and everything in between. Here are three awesome improvements for the Ford F-150 in 2021.

1. Enhanced Chassis

The 2021 Ford F-150 works harder so you don’t have to. The F-150’s refresh includes multiple facets of groundbreaking innovation to help you get the job done. Its chassis has been improved with frame reinforcements for widening the track almost an inch. This helps increase the F-150’s tow ratings, among other things. Its improved rigidity provides a better ride quality that’s also aided by available monotube shocks and higher-quality bushings where the cab is mounted to the frame.

The steering system, brake calipers and rotors, and brake booster have also been refreshed to accommodate for towing more weight. The 2021 F-150 has adopted the adaptive steering system used in the Edge, Super Duty, and other Ford vehicles for added responsiveness and performance.

When towing capacity increases, the brake calipers and rotors’ size has to increase as well, and Ford checked that off the list of improvements for the F-150. The vacuum brake booster has been replaced with an electric assist, increasing the F-150’s stopping power and helping the brake system handle over 12,000 pounds of towing capacity.
