The 2022 Ford Bronco is a mid-size primarily off-road SUV released by Ford in 2021. For drivers looking for an SUV they can put into G.O.A.T. mode and go anywhere, the Ford Bronco is the perfect off-road SUV. Drivers looking for a good everyday vehicle will enjoy the Bronco as well since it performs well on asphalt.

The original Ford Bronco was produced by Ford Motor Company from 1966 to 1996. Ford ended production of the Bronco in 1996 due lack of interest in a 2-door SUV. The Bronco is the first off-road sports utility vehicle produced in the American market and Ford’s answer to the Jeep.

New/Unique Features

Since the sixth-generation Bronco was just introduced in 2021, there have been no major changes to the vehicle. Ford did decide to release the Raptor, a more rugged off-road version of the Bronco. It has a wider frame, beefed-up suspension, stronger axles, and more rigid crossbars. It includes an upgraded cooling system and a twin-turbo EcoBoost 3.0 TT V6 engine with 392 horsepower.

Engine and Transmission

For models other than the Raptor, Ford offers two different engine choices. The first is the 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 300 horsepower. Drivers may choose a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed manual. The larger engine is a twin-turbo 2.7L V-6 with 330 horsepower. Only the 10-speed automatic transmission is available with this engine.

Exterior

In addition to the Raptor, which really isn’t a trim for the Bronco, it comes in six different trim models. Either 2-door or 4-door models are available, and the doors can be removed and stored. Drivers may also choose between a hardtop or a removable top for the full convertible experience. Hot Pepper Red Metallic and Cyber Orange add two new color choices for the body.

Interior

When it comes to the interior features of the Bronco, comfort meets durability. The Base and Big Bend models come with cloth seats in two color choices. The Black Diamond model offers vinyl seats while the Outer Banks model allows drivers to choose either cloth or leather. The Badlands come with Marine-Grade vinyl or leather seats, and the Wildtrak has leather seats. The 2-door model seats four and the f-door model seats five.

Technology

The SYNC 3 infotainment system comes with an 8-inch touchscreen and a factory-integrated navigation system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration allow drivers to connect their smartphones to play music and receive phone calls and messages. Drivers can use the convenient touchscreen or voice activation with the infotainment system.
