Many vehicle types are versatile, but if you’re looking for one that can do everything, you need to look no further than a truck. What was once a work-only type of vehicle can now have the comfort, performance, and technology to satisfy both personal and professional needs. The 2019 Ford Ranger is all that and much more, making it the perfect candidate to be your next truck.
Plenty of Configurations and Trims to Choose From
This midsize pickup truck is available in two cab configurations: an extended cab with a 6-foot bed or a crew cab with a 5-foot bed. You also have three trim levels to choose from: the XL, XLT, and Lariat. Even the base XL trim is well-equipped for a standard model, with features such as automatic headlights, a four-speaker stereo, air conditioning, and rearview camera. It also features useful active safety features such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
Higher trims bring even more useful features, such as 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, parking sensors for front and back, LED headlights and taillights, an 8-inch touch screen, and a 4G hotspot, among many others. The FX4 Off-Road package is available for all three trims and adds rough terrain gear such as off-road tires, upgraded shocks and suspension, and underbody skid plates.
Great Performance
When choosing the right truck, you first need to make sure it can do a proper job. The 2019 Ford Ranger is equipped with a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that’s capable of producing up to 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, helped by a 10-speed automatic transmission. All that power means the Ranger is able to get to 60 miles per hour from a complete standstill in just 6.8 seconds, a time that would be good for many much smaller cars.
Most people use a truck for hauling and towing, and the Ranger does a great job on both. Equipped with the Trailer Tow package, it can tow up to 7,500 pounds, more than any other midsize pickup truck. It’s also the best in its class when it comes to hauling, with a maximum payload of 1,860 pounds.
Technology
If you plan to use your truck for work on weekdays and for driving your family around on weekends, you need enough technology to keep everyone entertained. The 2019 Ford Explorer features Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system, and the 8-inch touch screen is both intuitive and easy to use. Physical buttons are available for the most used functions, as well as voice control, so the driver’s eyes never have to leave the road. Smartphone connectivity is a breeze, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and through the two available USB ports.
When you’re in the market for a truck, you need to make sure it not only gets the job done but also does so safely and comfortably. The 2019 Ford Ranger can handle any job on any type of terrain, and it will soon become a good friend and family companion.
