The SUV is the most popular type of vehicle today, and it comes in all shapes and sizes. If you’re looking for a vehicle that’s comfortable and powerful both on the highway and off-road, any of Ford’s SUVs will be a great choice. Here are a few you can choose from.

Ford Explorer

The current generation of the Ford Explorer was launched in 2011 and received a facelift five years later, but it’s still the standard for three-row SUVs. While even the base trim has many impressive features, such as large, 18-inch wheels, a rearview camera, and Ford’s Sync voice command system, higher trims are packed with even more power, comfort, and tech features. You and your loved ones will be entertained throughout your trips with the help of the Driver Connect package, which includes an 8-inch touch screen and smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB.

On the road, the Explorer doesn’t feel like an SUV large enough to fit eight people. The electronically assisted steering and handling enhance its agility and make the car very easy to maneuver. Performance-wise, its 3.5-liter V-6 turbo engine is capable of producing up to 365 horsepower and can reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 6.3 seconds, a time that would even put some much smaller sedans to shame.

Ford Edge

If you have no need for a third row but still want the comfort and performance that only an SUV can give you, the Ford Edge is a crossover that offers all that and more. Like the Explorer and the rest of Ford’s vehicles, the Edge’s standard trim is exceptionally well-equipped. Features such as automatic headlights, rear privacy glass, a 4G data connection with a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a crisp-sounding six-speaker sound system are only available as options for many other vehicles.

Higher trims bring even more features, with drivers being able to choose between the luxurious Titanium trim and the high-performing ST. Most extra features are available as options, though, so you’ll be able to configure your Edge according to your needs and desires. Aside from being comfortable and fun to drive, the Edge is also a good utility vehicle, with 39.2 cubic feet of cargo area that can be extended to 73.4 cubic feet with the rear seats down.

Ford Escape

The Escape is Ford’s successful attempt to create a compact crossover that drives like a smaller car while retaining the utility of a typical SUV. Its agile engines, coupled with excellent steering and handling, make this vehicle feel more like a hatchback or a sports sedan than a utility vehicle. That doesn’t mean, however, that the utility side was neglected, as the Escape has one of the largest cargo spaces in its class, along with a 7.8-inch ground clearance that makes it ideal for tackling rough terrain.

If you’re looking for a vehicle that combines comfort and utility and is fun to drive, you definitely need an SUV. No matter what your specific needs and desires are, the ideal SUV for you is definitely in Ford’s catalog.
