The new Ranger has a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque and gets an EPA estimate of 21 mpg (city) and 26 mpg (highway). Four-wheel drive is standard with the powertrain. With the upgraded trailer tow package, the new Ford Ranger gets a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. With a payload capacity of 1,860 pounds, this is the ultimate workhorse.
