Whether you're interested in technological, military, or cultural history, you'll be able to find a museum in the area that suits your taste. Pay a visit to these three wonderful museums near Morrison. more Arrowheads to Aerospace Museum and Cultural Center Arrowheads to Aerospace Museum and Cultural Center is dedicated to preserving and presenting the rich history of the local area from its humble beginnings to the present, spanning more than 400 years. During your visit, you will go through a wide range of exhibits in chronological order, starting with numerous Native American artifacts. Then, you will see displays about pioneer life, the U.S. Civil War, and other significant events from the past before ending your tour at an exhibit of modern developments in the area. Some of the notable displays in the museum include scale models of pioneer and Colonial-era buildings, Hummel figurines, a Spandau machine gun from World War I, and a large collection of buttons from around the world. Arrowheads to Aerospace Museum and Cultural Center is about 20 miles southwest of Morrison on Campground Road in Manchester. It is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day except Friday and Sunday. Admission fees are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $4 for children younger than 5 years old. Beechcraft Heritage Museum If you're an aviation enthusiast, make sure you visit Beechcraft Heritage Museum. This 60,000-square-foot world-class museum provides a comprehensive insight into the history of Beechcraft aircraft. It houses over 35 airplanes and an extensive collection of original artifacts and documents. Some examples of airplanes that are on display are the first Beechcraft airplane, a Travel Air “Mystery Ship,” Bonanzas, Staggerwings, Barons, and a Starship. Located about 40 miles southwest of Morrison on Old Shelbyville Highway in Tullahoma, Beechcraft Heritage Museum is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission fees are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 to 17 years old and senior citizens. Tennessee Walking Horse National Museum The Tennessee Walking Horse National Museum is a must-visit for all horse lovers. It features a wide selection of exhibits focusing on every aspect of the Tennessee Walking Horse industry. In this museum, you will find displays related to the current and past World Grand Championship winners and renowned breeders and trainers. There is also a hands-on section that contains industry-related magazines, old show bills, and other interesting items. The Tennessee Walking Horse National Museum is located about 45 miles west of Morrison on Main Street in Wartrace. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free. There are many other museums around Morrison that are worth visiting, including Southern Museum and Galleries in McMinnville, the Hands-On Science Center in Tullahoma, Stoker-Stampfli Museum in Gruetli-Laager, and Palmer Public Library and Miner's Museum, also in Gruetli-Laager.
