With many parks and green spaces nearby, it is the perfect place to get outside and explore. 1. Sassy Springs Retreat This unique year-round campground offers a great experience for every outdoor enthusiast. With glamping style tents, RV sites, as well as simple so-called “primitive” sites there's something for every taste. It is possible to hike into the site along the many trails through the woods, and in fact, some of the primitive sites are right along the trail. Prices range from $85 for the larger tents to just $25 for the primitive sites. Reservations can be made through the website, and the site is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You are required to stay on the trails as they run through a protected area. more 2. Rock Island State Park Campgrounds Rock Island State Park is an 885-acre park located at the headwaters of Centre Hill Lake. The park area includes the Caney Fork Gorge, which is located downriver of the Great Falls Dam, with plenty of paths and hiking trails through the gorge and the rest of the park. The park has two campsites, one larger one that has space for RVs and trailers as well as tents and includes 50 spots, some of which have sewerage hookups. The rates for the sites are based on the dates and availability, however, they can be booked through the park website. 3. McMinnville Home Site This smaller campsite, located just to the south of the town has only a few sites and no electrical hook-ups, so the site will likely be fairly basic, however, the tranquil woodland setting is perfect to get away from the crowds. It's not possible to reserve online, so it would be best to reserve over the phone or in person. 4. Old Stone Fort State Park Located to the south of Morrison, this historic archaeological site has plenty of activities to enjoy. There are lots of hiking trails through the woods, following the wall of the ancient fort, built by Native Americans over 1500 years ago, and plenty of fishing spots along the Duck River. The Campground can be reached by crossing the stone bridge, which has a weight limit of 10 tons for two axel vehicles and 18 tons for three axels. There are 51 sites throughout the ground, all of which are accessible for both RVs and tents and secluded from each other by thick woodland.
