The 2021 Ford F-250 is offered in a spread of trim levels that offer an increasingly luxurious experience. Stick with the already well-equipped XL, or add to the excitement by upgrading up through the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. Choose between the F-250's three available body styles to find your best space: the three-seater regular cab, the extended SuperCab, or the most-comfortable SuperCrew. Engine
This year's F-250 gives you the choice between three engines. The standard engine is a 6.2-liter flex-fuel gasoline V-8 that produces 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The available 7.3-liter gasoline V-8 delivers 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The F-250's diesel option is the 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo V-8 that offers 475 horsepower and an amazing 1,050 pound-feet of torque.
The F-250's standard engine is paired to a six-speed. The other two are matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The F-250 is the entry-level model of the Super Duty family in terms of towing strength. Properly equipped, it can handle up to 20,000 pounds with conventional towing and 22,000 pounds with a gooseneck or fifth-wheel towing setup. Opt for a model equipped with the 10-speed transmission to take advantage of the selectable drive modes that allow you to fine-tune how your truck takes on the road ahead. if you choose the diesel engine, the available exhaust braking feature is a game-changer when you're trying to maintain control over your haul when you're going downhill.
