2021 Ford Expedition

The new entry-level XL has 18-inch wheels, running boards, a roof rack, and a capless fuel filler. The XLT adds heated side exterior mirrors, while the Limited adds 20-inch wheels, power-deployable running boards, a hands-free liftgate, and power-folding side exterior mirrors. A step up to the King Ranch gets you special King Ranch badging, 22-inch wheels, Stone Gray exterior trim elements, and a panoramic sunroof. The Expedition Platinum sits at the top of the trim levels with satin aluminum exterior trim, roof rails with crossbars, and adaptive suspension. For some extra off-road capabilities, Ford offers the FX4 Off-Road Package. It comes with all-terrain tires, an off-road-tuned suspension, skid plates, and an electronic limited-slip differential.

Every Expedition gets power from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. It puts out 375 horsepower in all trims except the Platinum, which has the upgrades to boost horsepower to 400. A 10-speed automatic transmission works with the V-6 to smoothly get it up to speed. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, and any Expedition can be equipped with all-wheel drive.

The engine can get the big Expedition up to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds, and the Max can get there in 6.9 seconds. When equipped with the available tow package, it can tow up to 9,300 pounds with the regular length, and the Max can tow up to 9,000 pounds.

The new XL has room for five, and the rest of the Expedition models can seat up to eight. Standard cabin features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 4.2-inch infotainment screen, and 15 cupholders. The XLT adds three-zone automatic climate control and the option for heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats. The Limited bumps up the luxury with leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, power-adjustable pedals, and the upgraded heated and ventilated front seats. Technology for the XLT and up includes an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice commands, and satellite radio. A 110-volt power outlet also comes in these trims along with wireless charging. The higher-end Limited and the Platinum add HD radio and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo.

All of the Expedition trims and models come standard with Ford Co-Pilot360. This suite of advanced safety driving aids includes a blind-spot monitor, automatic high beam headlights, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist. A frontal collision warning system with automatic braking is also part of Co-Pilot360. The Limited and above add Co-Pilot360 Assist with full-speed adaptive cruise control, while the King Ranch adds a surround-view parking camera with 360-degree views and a parking assist system.
