2020 Ford F-350
The Ford F-350 received an update for the 2020 model year. It has new gas and diesel engines, and the carry-over Power Stroke diesel V-8 gets some new tuning to increase its horsepower and torque. Ford's new Pro Trailer Backup Assist system will help drivers when backing up with a trailer, and all Super Duty models will get updated technology. The upgrades continue with new front-end with enhancements to optimize cooling and new LED headlights.
Trim Levels
The XL is the entry-level F-350. It comes with 17-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights, and manual telescoping side mirrors. The XLT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, Ford's BoxLink system for the bed with lockable tie-down cleats, and a power tailgate lock. Step up to the Lariat to add halogen fog lights, power-folding side mirrors, and a power-sliding rear window. A rear-bumper step comes with the King Ranch models along with memory for the outboard mirrors, and a remote tailgate release.
The Platinum adds 20-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, and power-deployable running boards along with Quad-Dual LED headlights and a tailgate step, and moving up to the Limited gets you a power moonroof.
Engine
The base engine for all of the F-350 trims except the Limited is the 6.2-liter V-8 with 430 horsepower. The Limited gets the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 that makes 475 horsepower and gets 1,050 pound-feet of torque. An optional powertrain for the F-350 is a new 7.3-liter gas V-8 that delivers 430 horsepower. Ford's new 10-speed automatic transmission works with all the engines under the hood of the F-350.
Performance
This pickup truck has a max towing capacity of 37,000 pounds when properly equipped with a gooseneck trailer and towing package. With a conventional hitch, it can tow up to 18,000 pounds. Upgrades to the 2020 Super Duty make it feel extremely civilized on almost any road, even when it's not towing, and the optional adaptive steering helps with low-speed maneuvering.
Interior
All three of the available cabs have plenty of room for passengers to spread out. The upper trims add luxury features such as heated and cooled seats, and a massaging function for the front seats in some models. The King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited all have leather upholstery, and a 10-way power adjustment for both front seats is available.
The SYNC 3 infotainment system comes standard in the XLT trim and above along with navigation, and all models have an in-vehicle Wi-Fi feature that can connect up to ten devices. USB-C type ports come in all trim levels, and you'll get FordPass Connect and Bluetooth across the board.
Safety Features
All of the F-350 models have a rearview camera, and all trims except the XL have CO-Pilot360. This group of driver assist features includes blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, a pre-collision assist system with automatic braking and pedestrian detection, and it includes automatic high beams. It also comes with lane-keeping assist. Ford also offers a 360-degree view around the truck, and the Platinum comes with adaptive cruise control.
